The Development of Participatory Learning Model for Promoting
in Thai Reading Skills of Pupils Studying at Primary School
Grade 3, Watparerai Municipal School, Roi-Et Province
This research was aimed to 1) study the primary data necessary for the development of participatory learning model for promoting Thai reading skills of pupils and this was the one part of Thai Study Subject Area 2) design and develop the model to meet the criteria of its efficacy set up at 80/80 3) try out the model in the experimental pupil group and 4) evaluate the pupil satisfaction toward the utilization of model. Thirty-two pupils of the experimental group studying at primary school grade 3, Watparerai Municipal School, Roi-Et Province were therefore purposely chosen to study with the research instruments namely check up lists of general data collection, skill test of Thai reading skills, satisfaction test of pupil to the model and focus group discussion. The collected data were analyzed and presented in percentage, mean, standard deviation, dependent t-test and its content analysis.
From the results it was found as follows:
-The studied pupils had their shortage of Thai reading skills, they did not interest in Thai reading and writing too.
-The model had its efficacy test equal to 83.44/83.33 and these values could pass the requirement criteria set up here at 80/80. Then the model also has its probability and appropriateness in usage.
-From the experiment the test of Thai reading skill could yield its result at a high level ( = 25.00, S.D. = 1.97) and the mean score of post test was significant higher than the pre test at P ≤ 0.01.
-From the evaluation of satisfaction it yielded the result in high level ( = 4.27, S.D. = 0.69)
